Gerhard Angst, Founder and CEO of Concept Engineering, Receives EDA Achievement Award

MUNICH, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Concept Engineering (Freiburg, Germany), the technology and market leader in automatic schematic generation and viewing technology, today announced that Gerhard Angst, founder and CEO of Concept Engineering, and the entire engineering team have received the EDA Achievement Award 2007 from edacentrum for their achievements in electronic design automation (EDA) research and development.

Edacentrum (www.edacentrum.de) is an independent association dedicated to the promotion of research and development in EDA. Each year the EDA Achievement Award is given by edacentrum to a team or individual who reached excellent results in research or development within the field and who contributed to improvements within the Ekompass Project. Ekompass is a funding program set up by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to stimulate EDA research. Ekompass means "design platform for complex applied systems and circuits in microelectronics" in German.

Gerhard Angst and the Concept Engineering team have vastly simplified the EDA product development process for commercial EDA tool vendors and in-house CAD departments, and have also simplified the design process for IC and FPGA designers. Concept Engineering’s schematic generation and viewing technology has evolved over the past 18 years to include innovative transistor-, gate-, and RTL-level debugging tools as well as customizable visualization engines for EDA tool developers, and is recognized worldwide as the standard for automatic schematic generation and viewing.
